Perfume is used by individuals to give a pleasant smell to their bodies. Perfume is essentially a mixture of aromatic compounds and fragrant oils. The word perfume is derived from the Latin word “per fumum” which means ‘through smoke.’ Perfumes were first made by Egyptians. The art of perfume making was later developed by Persians and Romans. Persian doctor and chemist Avicenna made world’s first scent that used rose oil as floral extract. Hungarians introduced the first modern perfume in Europe during the fourteenth century.
Fragrances are categorized according to their concentration level, notes and the family. There are three popular methods of classifying scents, the traditional and modern and fragrance wheel. The classification introduced many new categories of scents like oceanic, gourmand and fruity. Fragrance wheel method was introduced by perfume consultant Michael Edwards in 1983. This method categorizes perfumes in four groups - floral, oriental, fresh and woody.
A diluted solution of ethanol is most commonly used as a solvent for perfumes. Some manufacturers also use lipids like jojoba or fractionated coconut oil as solvent for scents. The intensity and longevity of a perfume increases in direct proportion to the percentage of aromatic compounds used in it. Fragrances are typically made of three notes, the top, the middle and the base that unfold themselves gradually as one applies scent on her or his body. The top note leaves an immediate impression while middle and base notes gradually appear later. Raw material for scents can be sourced from plants and animals or they can be synthesized artificially as well.
GET IT RIGHT
Let’s get this straight - until recently men used to wear only after shave and deodorant, period. Most still do, but colognes are slowly getting into the mainstream.
Men shave every morning, and there are as many shaving styles and rituals as there are men. Some use blades - others use electric shaving machines, but they all use some type of after shave or cologne at the end.
But, you’ll be amazed to know that most men don’t know the proper steps to a “clean shave”. Basic scenario - wake up, take a shower, dry up, apply shaving cream, shave, splash water on the face, dry up, apply after shave or cologne to finish. Well, that’s wrong.
The correct scenario is - wake up, take a shower, dry up, apply alcohol (yes, alcohol) on your unshaven face (no stinging there) and onto the shaving blade - that will kill the bacteria. Apply after shave or men’s cologne to finish. Men don’t have to apply cologne to certain points on the body - so applying it on the face is ok. You may also want to spray a little on your body
Men prefer fresh sporty scents, or deep masculine tobacco and musk scents.

Every time we walk anywhere near those stairs, we remember the amazing ability of perfume to establish strong memories. Over the course of my life, we’ve noticed that fact numerous times. Our minds are capable of, and often do, remember smells in connection to events. The different types of scent that men can apply are sporty scent and musk scent and many other luxurious brands lies down in the market for those with heavy pockets-
• Perry Ellis for Men makes you think of a smiling, charming beau Gosse who could not care less about what is in and what is out because every clothes fall great on his frame. The fragrance has an easy, smooth charm while being masterfully blended; it obviously did not torture it about being edgy, or even trendy. It takes a well-tested classic persona of citrus + spices + woods + amber forming a fresh and warm contrast, but manage to impose its personality. Perfume by Mathilde Bijaoui who reveals her finesse and a very good sense of balance….
• Fashion brand Izod is launching a new men’s signature fragrance called Izod, targeting the 18-35 year-old market.
• Dior just launched new cologne for men (in France) called Dior Homme Sport avowedly destined to rope in a younger consumer, aged 25 to 40, as well as a more international audience “The original idea was to transcribe the sensation of eating the candies,” he explained. “Paradoxically, there’s the fact that they are very peppery, very burning, but give a fresh effect simply because one is obliged to breathe very deeply.”..
• The latest Dolce & Gabbana The One for Men is a warm, sweet and fruity tobacco perfume in the oriental genre. The brand describes it as “a spicy, oriental perfume developed on the harmony of tobacco with refined boisé notes”. The flacon is meant to directly reflect the fashion sense of the brand as “the proportions of the bottle recall a tailor suit made by the fashion house”
• “David Beckham’s Instinct After Dark”, it opens with sparkling, tangy-fresh citrus notes of grapefruit, Italian bergamot and mandarin leaf. The middle note is pure elegance with pimento, star anise and cardamom, culminating in the magnetic sensuality of vanilla and white amber.”….
STETSON BLACK by Coty, ACQUA DI GIO by Giorgio Armani, PAUL SABESTIAN by Paul Sabestian or BOSS IN MOTION BLUE by Hugo Boss are some of the luxurious men range available also.
Cologne or perfume actually can be a gift of significant importance, such as the lovely perfume Mary poured out on Jesus’ feet. That fragrant story has been shared for centuries! Imagine if Mary had decided to not give the gift of expensive perfume but had used plain water instead. The entire story would have a lot less telling-power.

Buying aftershave lotions can be a difficult job, especially when you have a wide range of choice and limited space in your closet. But when you have decided the event which you are likely to visit, it is half the job done. This is because the choice of aftershave largely depends upon the occasions and of course, your wallet! Here we are to give you some tips on how to buy a perfect aftershave.
Firstly, check out whether the scent of your aftershave suits your personality and whether it is perfectly going to match the occasion you are going to wear it on. But if your purchasing power limits you to buy an aftershave that suits all occasions, go for some chic and a quiet one that doesn’t let others know that you are wearing an aftershave.
Pricing of an aftershave is done according to its quality, quantity, perfume and packaging of the product. Aftershave becomes pricey when its perfume is more exotic. The costs generally do not fluctuate for these toiletries. Once introduced, the cost of an aftershave will remain at the same price for quiet a long time. Aftershave prices can also differ according to its antiseptic and skin care qualities. Skin friendly elements of the aftershave will increase its price.
You can select an aftershave according to your needs- whether you want an aftershave with all the benefits in one product or select an aftershave solely for its perfume or its ability to last longer. Nowadays aftershave lotions contain excellent moisturizing and skin protecting elements which can give your skin a glow. You can also choose an aftershave for that special fragrance which is mostly available in signature collections.
Aftershave not only avoids infections, it also helps fast healing of wounds. Cuts and wounds won’t leave ugly marks on your face if you apply an aftershave.

Looking forward to spending money on toiletries and really want to look and smell rich. You can splurge money where you want to, but if you are searching for toiletries that will give you the unique fragrance, you can check out wide range of designer toiletries on offer.
Each season almost all designers around the world take their time out to design not just the look of the season, they also give you the smell of the season, and here they combine different scents for different occasions. Though, these are not as substantial as their pricing these will surely give you a high about the designer brand name.
Another point of consideration why these are expensive is the very chic and fashionable packaging. The bottle of your expensive aftershave will leave you breathless, no wonder there are several who go in for the designer fragrances even though these products are really expensive.
Quality of the expensive aftershave lotions is doubtlessly good most of the times, there is hardly a designer who will give his name to a bad product. However, you need checking out whether it suits you, however, whether or not it suits you it will make you and all those around you feel good.
Most of the expensive aftershave lotions are unique, these combine some new ingredients and fragrances are imported from distant lands. You will find the exotic musk, fruits, flowers, sandal, etc. that are really attractive and exotic.
Expensive aftershave lotions and gels do not fail to make a mark, however, since you require an aftershave for a different occasions you need buying more than one aftershave, so if you are interested in buying more than one aftershave make sure you are loaded enough to select more than one aftershave lotion.

1. Always put quality before quantity. The more is always not the good.
2. Don’t think that your personal style statement is any “personal”. You are judged by the way you dress.
3. Solid and dark colors are slimming and commanding.
4. Being abreast with the latest fashion is good, but classic styles always work.
5. Always wear a tie neatly and in place.
6. Designer clothes (read brands) do not always guarantee great looks.
7. Always take the occasion in consideration before picking an outfit.
8. Shoes should always match your belt.
9. Keep you should well maintained.
10. When it comes to fragrance, little is always more.
