How to choose the best socks

How to choose the best socksSocks are an important part of men’s dressing. Though people think that they go unnoticed but it’s not true. Whether it’s in the board room or out on the road - you’re sure to make an impact with good socks. A man’s socks should accurately reflect his taste in clothes, and moreover like t-shirts, they should never be more interesting than you or the rest of what you’re wearing, they should compliment your attire more than just blend in it.

LOOK COLORFUL

Blue
Such a color looks magnificent and suit on more casual, leisure oriented days. It is certainly a spring and summer color of sock, reflects the sparkling feel of the day.

Golden yellow
Golden yellow seems to convey an aristocratic superiority, particularly when worn with blue or navy suits and a man’s ankles are glorified.

Red
On first glance it can be disheartening to see someone wearing red pair after pair of grey and black socks. But some men like them as they then take the drastic step. Blood red socks worn, with denim; draws the eyes to the ankles. It’s fashionable but also rather daring.

GO WHITE
White socks are very boyish and gives an “American look”. There’s something wholesome but also really sexy about them as well. Wearing them is still a bold fashion step to take. White socks have bad connotations in that they’re an easy fashion joke, and also because they bring back memories of enforced exercise at school. It’s not funny any more that people in the 80s wore white socks with suits and black shoes; there is a basic and simple rule with socks and suits. White socks are only allowed in formalwear when everything else is also white. A nice pair of socks can add another subtle touch to refine and distinguish your look. The following tips will help you pick the best men’s socks and avoid the wrong ones for any look.

Add to this the fact that most men don’t really care about their socks, whatever the color. They say they’ve got much more important things to worry about.

FIT
A lot of emphasis should be given on ‘fit’, especially for formals. When selecting socks for a formal occasion, make sure you pick a pair that live long. Socks that bunch around your ankles and require you to fiddle with definitely ruin a look of sophistication and grace. Cotton and nylon or Lycra blend socks have a good amount of stretch and will stay well if put around your calves. Wearing over-the-calf socks with formal dress will ensure that they do not slump and bunch.

Subtle ribbing or stitching detail can add exactly the touch of class and stylishness to your dress. Corporate and formal wear, belt and shoes should always match and make sure the color of your socks does not contrast with the suit/pants.

PATTERN
Argyle and other patterns are generally not considered to be elegant or modern, but on the right guy and with the right outfit, they look unique, sexy, and attention seeking. Patterns can go very well with tweed. Stripes or dots can offset similar elements in the shirt or tie. Beyond this, reserve patterned socks for plain suits. Likewise, avoid pairing patterned socks with a patterned suit. This will create a busy, complicated, unflattering look. Create contrast between the suit and accessories.

TEXTURE
The high proportion of cotton allows your feet greater comfort and better moisture absorption - keeping your feet dryer for longer. The dash of Lycra just adds durability making these socks endure the pressure of your busiest day. While the detailing of the men’s socks should not compete with the texture of the suit, pants, or shoes, a light touch can do wonders. Silk socks with a slight luster complement tuxedos and other fine formal wear. With a heavier wool winter suit, thicker wool socks are appropriate. In general, the thinner the sock, the more formal it is. For instance, thick cabled socks should be worn with more relaxed outfits.

Buying Socks Online
In today’s busy world everyone doesn’t have time to go out and shop. So they want that they get everything at just one click..!! So with almost every other consumer product, even socks can be ordered online and get shipped. Here are some sites which can make this task of selecting socks easy for you and have wide variety to choose from.

Invest in several pairs of nice dress socks to keep yourself looking stylish and suave.

And now stop thinking that nobody notices your socks. People do.

The 2008 Denim- Thrashed and Torn

The 2008 Denim- Thrashed and TornThe fashion-conscious guys now want their denim to reflect their inner rock star. They are looking for the more worn, torn and well traveled add-ons in their urban denim wear. This gives the signal of the return of full-on tears or pocket abrasions in this year. Denim will reflect a more active lifestyle in the years to come.

Sloppy relaxed fits and baggy jeans are perhaps showing no signs of a comeback. There is still good news for you. Denim is made-over to look sexy. And the bad news is that guys with monster quads continue to miss out on comfort for fashion.

Meanwhile, the companies manufacturing denim outfits are coming out with pocket art and innovative use of studs and stones. The top notch brands are continuing to deliver fine quality hemmed denim. The original hem is being removed and reattached.

The denim prices continue to moderate. Some manufacturers have announced the reduction of denim prices across the board.

Right Suit Fit

Right Suit Fit“Less is more” has finally permeated into men’s fashion! Today, the fashion buffs among men would just love to show off more of their ankle below their pant and more cuffs at the sleeve. This is what is called as the right suit fit! A fitted suit in the contemporary fashion is sleek with slimmer fit at the shoulder and shorter hemlines. This was just a generalized view on the right suit fit. The fitting largely depends on the type of built you have. This article will guide you on how to buy a good fitted suit.

If you have a broader body frame, you should go for suit that is slenderizing.
Men who are well built should opt for dark colors as lighter colors will make the body seem fuller whereas, the darker shades will have an opposite effect. For the lighter feel, go for darker colors that will do wonders to lighten the appearance of your built.

Colors such as dark navy and black are colors of contemporary style and elegance. If you are the “muscle man”, go for suit that is slender and sleek. If you are searching for suit with extra detailing, never go for loud patters as they will work against your heavy built. Vertical stripes are the best as they lengthen the body and the shoulder frame. Bigger guys should look for innocuous designs in their suits whilst the shorter guys should go for fabrics that are wide open. If you are vertically challenged, you should opt for louder patterns that can draw attention to your smaller frame.

Vertical stripes are the best choice for shorter men as they lengthen their height. For shorter men, the overall body frame can be increased vertically by the running down strips in the suit and choosing a shoe with higher sole. Single button jackets are stylish. The dual slits or vents of your suit will highlight the outside lines of your body, thus complementing your frame.

Get the best fitting men’s shirt

Get the best fitting men’s shirtAll men want to look neat and crisp, isn’t it? However, many of them don’t find the shirt that fits them very well. Result- they end up in wearing long, sagging sleeves with neck squeezed by collars. They look just like unmade beds! If you are one among them, don’t lose sleep over this issue, as we are here to provide you the tips to get the best fitting shirt.

Neck: Here is a quality check for the right fitting of neck. Slide two fingers down the neckband. If the collar of your shirt, while buttoned, allows you to slide your fingers without gagging your throat and collar, this means the fitting of neck is all right. The fabric of many shirts shrinks when they are washed. Therefore, the shirt should have an extra ¼ - ½ inch to allow for shrinkage.

Shoulder: Your shirt shouldn’t hinder the free movement of your arms. If you find it too hard too lift your shoulders and literally, pull the shirt uncomfortably across the shoulders, then this denotes a wrong fit.

Body: The body of your shirt should not be baggy and shapeless. This will give you the feeling of wearing a bedspread! So, ask your tailor to make the shape of the shirt in accordance with your body.

Cuffs: Ideally, the cuffs of your shirt should hang over your hand. You should also ensure that you don’t slip your hands through the cuffs without unbuttoning them.

Sleeves: Your cuffs should end slightly below your wrist bones. The cuffs should provide enough room to bend your arms with ease.

Shirt-tail: The long shirt tail bunches up when tucked in. Therefore, the shirt tail should be ideally short but not too short that it comes out of your pants when you raise your arms.

Pant it Right

PantStay Away from Pastels

For Friday dressing and other kinds of semi-formal events, experimenting with pastel shades in shirts and ties can be fun. But never make the mistake by trying this out with your pants! Pastel colors in pants just make the wearer look ridiculous and you’re sure to be labeled a fashion victim.

Get the Fit Right!

Pants should not be too long or too short and flash your ankles. They should be the right length which means that they start at your waist and the bottom of the pants should rest at the top of your shoe. If your pants are too long, get them hemmed and if they are too short, donate them to a shorter person.  Of course even the fit around you waist should be right. It goes without saying that you shouldn’t be wearing pants that are too loose for you and expecting a belt to take care of the fit. The baggy fit will ruin the entire look for you!

Get the Cuff & Pleats Off!

Fashion dictates that your pants should not have cuffs. Especially if you are wearing slim leg pants, cuffs can look very unfashionable. Even pleated pants are very outdated and should be completely avoided. If you happen to own a pair of these fashion disasters, please give them away. Flat fronts rule fashion now!

How Well Dressed Are You?

DressedWhen we see a smartly dressed man we have a perception of him as a smart, intelligent and well educated person. Clothes have the ability to create first impressions- good or bad. Here is a checklist for you to judge yourself as a smartly dressed man. Go on, its time for some introspection!

Do your clothes fit?

Clothes that are too big or are ill fitting will not only make you look larger they will hide your assets and accentuate figure flaws. Jackets, pants and shirts should be tailored to fit a person’s body measurements.

Does the color of the shirt suit you?

Color is one of the most important aspects of looking great. The wrong color will make your skin look dull, lines and wrinkles more apparent and dark circles darker. The right colors will make skin look radiant, eyes will sparkle and lines, wrinkles and dark circles less noticeable.

Do you have a good pair of shoes?

An ill-fitting, dirty or shabby pair of shoe ruins the most perfectly dressed look. Your shoes must also suit your outfit in color, weight and occasion. A regular care and maintenance is a must.

Do you carry yourself with a great attitude?

Wearing an Armani will do no good if you walk like a zombie. Knowing how to look your best will create more opportunities but a great attitude - being able to get along with others, a pleasant personality and charm - is the driving force that will make you shine.

So, buying a perfect jacket becomes almost a necessity for any kinda guy, be it a party-circuit moth or a sports junkie. Here are some minute details that you should pay attention to, when you pick a jacket from the rack to buy.
Lapels
The styles of the lapels keep changing but the width of the lapels are generally from 3 to 4 inches. Also consider you body structure, something that looks good on the mannequin doesn’t necessarily be a perfect fit for you.
Length

The Fit
The perfect fitting jacket will not have any creases or bulges and should lie smoothly in the front and back when standing in a relaxed position. The lowest button should be half-concealed by the fabric of the jacket when buttoned. A jacket that fits well will look great and feel great.
