Cotton or wool, formal or casual, shopping for suits can be difficult and expensive when you don’t know what to choose for yourself.
Here are a few tips on how to choose a suit for yourself:
• Your suit should fit you properly in the shoulders. If it does not fit, then the suit will never fit well. You will never get what you wanted of the suit.
• The sleeves should be short and end at the turning point of your wrist so that a sliver of dress-shirt cuff peaks out.
• Go for dark, neutral colors like black, charcoal, or navy. These colors work on everyone.
• If you’re a thin, have the sides of the jacket taken in a bit.
• If you are broad, you don’t need a lot of shoulder padding.
• If you have short legs, make sure the jacket isn’t too long.
• Choose a good quality fabric. It may be a little expensive but it’ll last you longer. You can find a great price on a desirable suit; just make sure to shop around and compare and choose the one that best suits you.
• In summer seasons, you should go and buy yourself a cotton suit. They’re essential in the hot-weather months, and; they’re available in different styles, from classic khaki to pinstripe business.
• You can go in for simple, flat-front styles and get them tailored if you want to keep it both simple and elegant.
The aforesaid tips will help you choose a suit that will satisfy you the most and complement your style.
How to take care of your suit?
• The suit shouldn’t be dry cleaned too much in order to protect the reliability of the fabric.Even the best quality men’s suits cannot stand to be dry cleaned too often.Once or twice at the most is fine.
• You can also get your suit steam pressed to remove wrinkles if you do not want to get it dry cleaned.
• You should cover your suit with a suit cover when you are not wearing it. This will help you keep it away from dust or even bugs. They can ruin the look as well as your suit.
• Don’t wear the same suit everyday. It is important to give it at least a day’s rest. If worn everyday it will collect too much perspiration over time.
• If you spill food on your suit make sure that you take it to the dry cleaner immediately. If you prolong the time the stain might become permanent.
It’s not enough to choose the right fabric, color and style. Once the suit is made you also need to take proper care of it.
