The first factor to consider is the category of scent. You should recall that the choice of fragrances is personalized. It varies from person to person. Some may like the mild, soothing smell to mark their presence while others may stick to strong fragrances to create a tantalizing effect on the people around them.
Floral perfumes come is a wide variety of flowers such as roses, lily, jasmine and many more. They are mild and sometimes strong fragrances. The mild fragrances are at times mixed with other scents with a subtle smell like vanilla.
If you want to mark your presence with a strong fragrance, go for citrus scents that contain a blend of fruits like tangerine, lemon, lime etc. They are refreshing as well as strong.
The next factor to consider is the concentration. Pure and expensive perfumes are highly concentrated. They are long lasting as well. On the other hand, cologne is considered to be made of least concentration. However, these light fragrances need to be applied frequently, especially on hot summers.
The third important thing which greatly influences your choice of fragrance is the occasion in which you are wearing. Mild floral fragrances are best suited for a romantic date. So, keep this type of fragrances reserved for romantic outings with your spouse. Strong citrus scents can be worn both for evenings and office. Cologne is best suited for wearing in office but pure perfume is considered a wrong choice for the place. Universal scents are used for many occasions. Evening wear colognes create warm and exotic feeling.
