Imagine yourself moving out of your home, all dressed and robed like clotheshorse extremely confident about making a lasting impression on the onlookers like no other. So you move out and see a damsel walking past you. And before you could gather yourself, you see that she smirks funnily at you and walks away as if she just saw a clown. All your confidence comes shattering down and you end up wondering that where exactly did you lose.
Well, my dear friend, this kind of situation is not new to you. Many men like you confront the same only to get saddened in the end. This happens because most of us are not aware about some wardrobe rules that we need to keep in mind while putting the garbs we so happily do. The first thing is every thing nice need not be worn in the same attire. Let me tell you some such fashion blunders so that you know that you don’t have to repeat if you find similarity with any of these.
Here we go!
Trousers!
The biggest thing you need to keep in mind while wearing trousers is that they should be long enough to cover your socks. If you think that wearing trousers above your ankle length look cool, you are highly mistaken. It in fact gives an impression that you are wearing a borrowed pair with the length a bit too less for you. Also when you cross your legs, your socks should be covering your shins perfectly. Pants are long enough if they have a slight break in the front.
Besides, pleats should never be neglected while getting your trousers stitched if you are towards the healthier side. Don’t think pleats are a traditional form and are non functional so to say. Pleats help you to sit down comfortably and cuffs add weight to your seat allowing for proper drape.
Belts!
What makes even the most handsome and smart looking men look funny and let me say ‘insecure’ is that they wear both belts and braces (suspenders) together. Hence never wear both of them together.
Socks!
This rule of thumb might be known to many but since I still see in many a formal meeting I attend, I would like to mention it. The socks you wear should always match your trousers. What amuses me is I often see men wearing socks matching their shoes. So friends, keep a note of it from now on to avoid doing this.
So here we are! These are some very common wardrobe malfunctions I have often found even the most educated and smart men making. And now that you know it, I’m sure you’ll keep all of it in your mind the next time you dress for an occasion. You bet, this time you’ll make a real impression!

If you feel that flaunting a few curves here and there will have girls crooning your name, you need to get your facts right. If an intelligent, smart and a genuine person is whom you intend to impress, then let me tell you that your clothes and dapper looks will only play a partial role in it. This is so because money can only buy you clothes but true style only comes from within. And what really adds to that style is your conduct and demeanor towards ladies in particular and people in general.
So for all of those who have long forgotten their lessons on chivalry or never learnt at all, here are some basics that every man must know.
Open the doors!
This forms one of the basic etiquettes all men must invariably follow, come what may. Banging the door on a lady’s face is one of the worst turn offs one can ever confront. So weather she is about to enter your car, a restaurant, club or any place, open the door for her and you’ll immediately sense an sir of respect in her eyes for you. And if you do so with a subtle smile on your face, it only adds on to personal style statement. Even if she does not meet you ever again, she is never going to forget you for your chivalry.
Help put on her coat!
One of the most powerful ways to attract a lady towards you is to help her put on her coat. Even though the girl may not show but it makes a very deep impression on her and adds on a lot to your personality.
Help the lady take a seat!
Yes, helping the lady take a seat speaks volumes of your gravity as a person. Your style is a sum total of how you conduct yourself in anything that you are wearing. These two things may seem to have no relation to you but mannerisms make up a lot of you to a great extent.
These are some basic etiquette that men should invariably follow if true style is really what they what they want to imbibe in them. Mannerisms bring into a person a great deal of charm and charisma, no man would want to miss. Hence next time you move out with your lady, make sure you follow each of these and you’ll see that you’ll be a winner in her eyes at the end of the day.

What to wear for the business lunch? What should you wear on your first date? Does your closet serve apparels for casual events? How to look stylish without spending huge bucks? These are some of the many questions men ponder and end up being totally confused about how to go about things. Having a decent wardrobe is not about spending large moneys if that is what you think. If you really want to create a perfect wardrobe without emptying your pockets, its time to pay attention to these style tips that’ll help you build a wardrobe you have always been dreaming about.
This maybe sounding a bit impossible to you but let me tell you that the secret of having a wardrobe that serves you a perfect ensemble for every occasion is have a few outfits that can be mixed and matched to make you look fashion savvy without much ado. Here are some of these pieces!
In my last article, I emphasized on having a custom made tuxedo along with two suits at least. Let’s see what more do we need to have.
Button down shirts!
Having just two or three button down shirts is enough. They can be worn with khaki trousers to render a look that’s casual but extremely stylish. A must-have color here should be a white and a light blue. Wearing shirts with light starch will make them look crisp and cleaner that normal. I bet if any women do not turn around to throw a glance at you if you wear this combination on the street.
Polo shirts!
These make for an ideal option when it comes to dressing casually and giving your stylish best at all occasions. The best part is they are inexpensive and can be replaced annually when they start to fade. Some shades that look good on almost everyone include white, pale blue, navy blue, light yellow and red.
Sweaters!
A cashmere sweater for a laid-back, yet an elegant look (a button-down) is always a classic. Two pieces would do for you to make a perfect impression this season. The other one could be cotton, wool blend suited for tailgating in the chilly, autumn weather.
Alright so these are some pieces for your upper wear you can invest some of your bucks in can be worn in combination with different lowers to make for an ideal look this season. So what are you waiting for? Get started!

One’s personal sense of style cannot be bought by money or put on as a garb like clothes. It is a cumulative total of how you carry yourself in anything that you are wearing. Moreover, being chivalrous adds on greatly to one’s individuality which reflects itself as style to the outer world. Hence those who think that style is something which comes on with expensive clothes need to have their facts right. Even if you are simply clad but know how to conduct yourself with grace and poise, this in itself forms your personal style statement and you will invariably win people’s heart with this (read women).
We usually associate adjectives like aggressive, bucolic and uncouth with men and we also have some of our friends believing in the fact that being all of this is absolutely okay when it comes to men. They feel that being rough adds on to their masculinity so they easily get away with it. Well, if you are basking in the notion that these qualities accentuate your personal style, let me tell you that you are miles apart from reality as of now.
Being rude or rough in language and demeanor can never and I mean never add on to your style in anyway. Men are by nature strong beings but their beauty lies in not flaunting it in a negative way but being poised and calm and using it only if need be or if situation arises. In other words being chivalrous is what adds greatly to a person’s uniqueness and he can never fail to impress women in particular and people in general by being so.
So let me lay down some simple etiquette that all men must inherently follow if the intend to hone their personal sense of style:
• Always open the door for a lady if you are accompanying her
• Help the lady take a seat
• Help the lady put on her coat
• Stand at attention when a lady enters or exits a room
• Give her your arm if you are accompanying her at a social event
So these are some simple tips that men should keep in mind while moving out with a lady. These may sound very humble to you but that being well-mannered is a great way to lure a woman with effortless ease. This is what true style because it reflects what kind of individual you are.

Alright, we are done with the tuxedo, the pinstripe suits, the button down and the polo shirts and the sweaters !Time now for some lower wears you can mix and match these shirts with. Let me first tell you that these are some simple fashion tips that’ll help you build the perfect wardrobe you have always been dreaming of but the fear of getting your pockets empty over building one always stopped you from doing so. Well, happy times have finally come. Since last couple of write-ups I have been talking about how men can build ideal wardrobe without spending huge bucks and in this article I’ll be culminating all of my closet secrets towards the same. Let’s have a look!
Jeans!
These make for an evergreen part of your wardrobe which only gains beauty the more it soils. Even if you have just two pairs, it is enough to spend a couple of seasons with it. The styles you can possibly pick up can be first, a regular wash and te other a little more faded. Both make for a great style statement on a casual Sunday stroll and I bet you’ll have heads turning in awe of you for sure!
Khakis!
Just three shades will cover all your formal events without you being bothered about what to wear on which occasion. Here is one for every juncture! Olive – dressier, Stone (casual pleated) - dressier, Flat front- casual.
Leather belts!
Well, this isn’t something I need to tell men. Having the basic brown and black is a must, not to mention that the black belt goes with a black trouser and a brown belt with the brown one. The only thing that needs to be known here is men should always match their shoes with the belts otherwise you are in for a massive wardrobe malfunction.
Silk ties!
Pale yellow, ice blue and royal red are the three must have shades when it comes to ties which will help you complete any suit or a blazer combo.
Shoes!
Just a basic black leather dress shoe, a brown dress shoe and a sport shoe will do for every kind of apparel and you will not have to look beyond these at all.
Topcoat and a blazer!
A camel topcoat and a navy blazer are what complete your wardrobe.
Beyond the tips I mentioned in this write-up and the ones in the last article, I assure all the men out there that you will not have to look beyond these. Neither will you have to spend any big bucks on any of these. These are a one time investment in small measures that will fetch you the perfect look you have always wanted to have. Keep reading for some more style tips in my forth coming articles!

Think only girls worry about what to wear? Think again! Fashion can be tricky for guys, but we’ll take the guesswork out of dressing with tips, shopping links and trends.
According to men’s fashion expert Andy Gilchrist “Researchers have come up with some scientific evidence to support the fact that what you wear really does make a difference in how you influence the world .He says that looking good may even affect your grades.
“The guy in English that gets all the high grades, may not be smarter nor study harder than you, he may just know how to look smart to the teacher,” according to Andy .
How to go about choosing your fashion-
Colors
You can compliment or contrast. Here’s the lowdown:
• Complimentary colors are closer together in shades. Produces a more subtle look: Blue and green, khaki and gray, orange and red.
• Contrasting colors play off of each other. A bolder look: Black and white, navy and khaki, denim and red.
Layer
Choose either complimentary or contrasting colors (to avoid a just-rolled-outta-bed-and-threw-something-on look). Try these:
• Tee polo
• Tee oxford
• Tee sweater
• Tee polo sweater
• Tee polo oxford
• Tee tee.
Accessorize
• Your shoes and belt should be the same color. Black with black, brown with brown.
• A rugged necklace made of leather, shells, or big beads can really pull an outfit together.
• Use hats in small doses. Baseball caps can be totally out of place worn with jeans and a nice top. A newsboy cap can be pulled off by only the trendiest guys. If you insist on sporting a topper, try a stretchy knit cap (best for fall/winter) or a sporty visor (best for outdoors).
• Buy cool shades. Andy says the hottest shades feature lenses with flash mirroring and gradient colors like deep reds, oranges and gold (”Men in Black II”).
Do’s
• Experiment with styles. Urban; Prep; Sophisticated; Artsy; Retro; Mod; Punk; Surfer. Try to mix different looks.
• Be particular about the fit of pants - especially denim. Tapered leg (fitted at the ankle) is an absolute NO! Slightly loose-fitting in the leg with a bit of a boot-cut is always flattering.
Don’ts
• Avoid the head-to-toe baggy look — it’s just not flattering. T-shirts that reach to your knees will make your legs look two inches long (plus those extremely wide-leg jeans won’t help!).
• Skip the athletic socks with non-athletic shoes. Doesn’t work with loafers, oxfords, leather boots, and most importantly, Doc Marten-style leather sandals. Ever.
• Pass on head-to-toe logos. Mixing labels = good. Mixing over-the-top logos = tacky. When it comes to designer sigs, less is always more.

There is a common question a lot of men ask. It is “how do others perceive me?”. Have you ever LOST an opportunity in business or in a relationship and just didn’t know WHY? It could be an IMAGE PROBLEM.
Everyone is uniquely different: therefore not every fashion trend is going to look right on you. This is why it is very important to follow the following steps before you shop:
1. Determine what colors and are going to work best with your physical coloring (skin color, hair color, eye color) crucial when choosing fabric colors. Colors can brighten your face and bring you forward or they can wash you out and make you look sallow.
2. Determine your Body Type: (big and tall, short and slim, athletic, rotund etc.) Crucial when choosing styles and creating the correct silhouette for your body’s form: Pleats versus plain front trousers makes a huge difference on an individual who is conscious of their middle section.
3. Consider your Activity level: crucial when choosing fabrics: silk vs. high performance worsteds.
4. Consider your Lifestyle socially and in business. Determines the types of fashion you will need the most.
5. Consider your profession: An engineer will have different fashion needs from an attorney, or the editor of a magazine: the well tailored suit vs. well tailored business casual. Why well tailored? There’s no reason for anyone to look sloppy and having the right fit is SOMETHING SHE DEFINITELY NOTICES. Details are considered very important.
6. Consider Your Personality: Your apparel will create an individual flair and “The Statement” you wish to project.
7. Consider the Image you wish to convey: Studies show 30 seconds is how long it takes for a first impression. In those 30 seconds you are judged on many things, including: Education, Sophistication, Trustworthiness, Social Standing, Success, and Competence. The results are based almost entirely on visual cues. Appearance does count! And first impressions affect salaries, career advancement and the influence you will have on others.
8. Consider your personal likes and dislikes: determines what to look into and what to stay away from.
9. Consider the climate in your area: determines fabrics and types of clothing needed.
10. Consider your formal wear needs: Every gentleman needs at least one tuxedo in his closet. And if you are going to be your best, you better get this one RIGHT FOR HER in social settings.

Unlike hair trends and clothing trends, spectacles and sunglasses trends seldom undergo any major change and flux. An immense trend that has been continuing from past many years is still in era. The recovery of 70s fashion has been going on for sometime, but 2008 is the year it’ll become much more obvious on the fashion scene.
Now day’s even spectacles can be in trend and not just sunglasses. Selecting the right pair is crucial sunglasses are not only in trend for men but even for women. Extra-large socialite sunglasses will go out of fashion at some stage, but it won’t be in 2008 or 2009.
As a key style for both men and women be sure to shop around. Depending on your face shape you may be able to find either a unisex, or grab a pair intended for the opposite sex.
Eyewear is thrilling this season, as designers are implementing new styles and reworked looks to give you a load of cool choices to choose from. Sunglasses are super stylish and booming in popularity. It’s all about personal style. Some sunglasses brands have expanded with the sleekest shades and the most modern shapes, but really hot this season are retro frames. Their are different kinds of frames that have been in demand:
Square, Bold Plastic Frames
These sunglasses are a modern take on the classic square frame style. You can wear ones that have slightly translucent lenses and a very bold shape. The more retro they look, the better they go with what’s in demand these days. Old is gold!!!
Geometrics
The ’60s are back and so are the sunglasses from that unforgettable decade! With the clever use of square-yet-modern shapes, sunglasses this summer work well with button-looks like linen suits and relaxed styles.
The Wayfarer Style
Well, it’s not a new style, but the traditional one which is growing in popularity .The Wayfarer works with anything, from light summer suits to white jeans, and it’s an undeniable classic.
Detailed Frames
Detailed frame of past times is back again. Leather is hot right now, so prepare yourself for a little cowboy-style tooling. Best worn with your favorite jeans and tees, these detailed frames have rugged appeal. Try yours in red this season, or plain black to complement anything you choose to wear.
Hot colors in demand
Try bright white frames on your sunglasses or even one of the new colored lenses to keep your sunglasses collection current. Lenses in gradient pinks and ambers scarf the show this season. Very bright pink lenses in tortoiseshell frames, as well as blue and gold are the ones in demand this season. Unlike their summer counter parts, winter sunglasses usually have lighter lens allowing you to see clearly on dull days while still reducing glare, and protecting eyes.
Protection
Sunglasses are more than just a style statement: they are a necessity to protect your eyes from harmful UV rays. Even in winter our eyes need to be protected from the suns harmful UV rays – giving you the perfect excuse to buy a new pair of sunglasses from winter collections
Look for sunglasses that block at least 99% of harmful UV rays.
Lens
A sunglass lens can be made of glass or plastic and can have special hi-tech treatments.
There are different kinds of lenses:
Mirrored - Thin layer of metallic applied to lens that may reduce visible light to reach eyes, but not UV rays.
Gradient - A tinted lens that is darker on the top fading to no tint on the bottom
Polarized - Cuts the glare from smooth surfaces such as water, snow or pavement.
Photo chromic - These lenses are sun-sensitive and transition from light to dark shade according to light conditions.
Tints - A color called neutral density gray will shade but not change your color perception.
Face cuts and the right sunglass
In general, you should choose a pair of shades in a shape that is the opposite of your face shape. Round faces look best in anything but round shades. A rounder face can carry off geometric shapes, ovals, wraps and shields. Thin faces look better in rounder frames; oval faces can carry off almost any style.
Brands
Get your eye-catching consumption from European houses such as Gucci, Chanel, and Christian Dior Dolce & Gabbana. Or pick up street-smart style from influences like Phat Farm, Oakley or Police. Versace Emporia Armani, de la Renta.
Get the right one for you and look more smart and trendy with the over demanding sunglasses this season.

Body language is a term for communication using body movements or gestures instead of, or in addition to, sounds, verbal language or other communication. It forms part of the category of paralanguage, which describes all forms of human communication that are not verbal language. Our body language exhibits far more information about how we feel than it is possible to articulate verbally.
Few examples of body language
Brisk or erect walking: shows that you are confident
Arms crossed on chest: shows defensiveness
Hand to cheek: evaluation or thinking
Tilted head: shows that you are interested in the other person
Biting nails: is a sign of insecurity
Standing with hands on hips: displays aggression
Fortunately, there’s a proven way to accurately decode people’s thoughts, emotions or mood - and that’s by reading their body language. People may lie, but their body silently and unconsciously speaks the truth.
Having the right knowledge in body language allows you to uncover what your friends, co-workers, spouse, customers or anyone else, may be hiding from you. You might even understand other people’s thoughts or feelings better than they do!
If someone loves you or if he/she is extremely interested in you most probably they won’t tell you directly until they make sure of your emotions. But behind the scenes their subconscious will keep sending you signals without them even noticing that they’re actually doing so. These signals are actually a part of the body language.
There are many body language signals that can make a significant difference to your success with girls
• The way you walk
• The way you stand
• Your gestures
NEGATIVE BODY LANGUAGE
Negative body language is any kind of movement of the body, head and eyes, any part of the visible anatomy that alludes to us as individuals being unhappy or displeased by something or someone.
• Tightened jaws
• Arms folded across chest
• Perspiring
• Clenched Fists
• Hunched shoulders
• Weak handshake
• Shifty eyes
A flow of negative body language from you will almost certainly result in the interviewer forming a damning verdict of you, no matter what else you might have said or done, during, before or after the interview.
Most people are totally oblivious to their own body language, so the discipline of controlling these gestures can be quite challenging. Most of them are reflexive in nature, automatically matching up to what our minds are thinking at any given moment. If you really want to stand out in the crowd its very important to avoid negative body language.
