Comments RULES FOR WEARING STRIPES
![]() |
If your fashion experimentation extends to more than just solid colors, but you are a little wary of wild patterns, then stripes is just the right thing for you. Let’s take you through these rules and explain how best you can incorporate stripes into your outfit.
Vertical Limit
Stripes can either go horizontally or vertically. Unless you want to look like something out of a children’s show, or a convict, it’s best to stick to vertical stripes.
Thin is In
Stripes come in a wide variety of weights or rather thickness. You can choose the thickness that you are comfortable with, but it is best if you stick to stripes that are less than an inch in width.
Mix Stripes with Care
Never mix two stripes that are of the same thickness. Always try and get stripes that have different weights so that the contrast makes for interesting fashion.
These basic rules to combining stripes should ensure that you are never caught on the wrong side of the stick when it comes to fashion.
