The Polo Shirt!

The Polo Shirt! The one reason of the fact that the charisma of polo shirts is still alive is because it is worn by students, businessmen and everyone in between which means that it is a universal favorite for people spanning all age groups and professions. Let us have a look at the different ways in which you can wear this polo shirt!
There are occasions when wearing a t-shirt seems a bit too informal and it just doesn’t seem to make sense to dress it up with a collared shirt. Well, in such circumstances, polo is a wonderful substitute that brings both comfort as well as durability to your clothing. It specifically fits in well with the new concept of the business casual clothing gaining popularity with employers now a days.

There are no specific rules to wear the polo shirt. Just a few shades and combination of fabrics is all you need to know to give your self the perfect look. Ideally the polo shirt looks the best when worn to give the casual effect with a perfect pair of jeans or any other casual pants such as the corduroy. In fact polo shirt with a pair of corduroy pants makes for one of the neatest look for the fall and winter season. I have often seen women turning heads for men wearing dark thick guage chocolate corduroy lowers in combination with ivory or cream colored polo. Wear it either with snickers or loafers and you’ll be amazed at the number of admiring gazes you’ll get.

Where most popular colors in polo shirts include the blues, greens, tans and browns, the pink color has recently made a come back and is being greatly liked by both the young and those young at heart. Long sleeved polo shirts are also a good option for the older men and look best when worn in solid colors and stripes. In fact they make for a great option when it comes to gifting men with something. Many men are not aware that polo shirts also come in long sleeves.

A new wave that is seen in this genre is wearing a polo shirt with a necktie and jeans. This may come to some of you as something out of the tune but it is making a great style statement among those who flaunt a more eclectic or a relaxed attitude. For those who are interested in trying out this combination may do so with 100% cotton shirt without a button down collar. Some popular combinations include black polo’s with a white tie or lighter shades of blue matched with pink, red or white.

So here we are – with all possible combinations and styles of polo shirts that can give your wardrobe a new definition all together. So gear yourself up and get ready to have women turning their heads at you in awe!

The pink magic!

The pink magic!Contrary to the belief posed by men at one point in time about pink color being a social stigma for men and that it is a luxury only meant for the women, present times are writing a different story. Today the markets are swarming with clothing lines dominated with shades of pink for all kinds of menswear, whether it be shirts, kurtas or t-shirts of all kinds. Pink has finally casted its spell and is doing wonders to the wardrobes of fashion vistas and the younger breed of men in particular.

Though I must not say the pink is liked only by the younger brass; it has found its place in the closets of the older men as well and today stands as one of the major option of solid colors chosen for formal wear.

My last write-up spoke about pink used as a base color and in this article I’ll be talking about how pink forms a beautiful combination when used as an accent color. Shades of pink when mixed with autumn colors such as chocolate browns or a very light gold spells high end style and fashion statement most men dreamt of. One thing that men must first imprint in their mind before wearing pink color is that they should be confident enough to flaunt it with élan or else they’ll end up looking sissy. A fine combination for a necktie will be a chocolate brown woven silk tie with distinctive pink stripes matched with a medium blue cotton shirt, or even a pink contrast collar if the tie is also offering alternating white stripes.

If you want to delve in higher realm of fashion then, a baby pink dress shirt matched with a mocha colored garment will look extremely dapper and elegant on you.

Pink’s strength as an accent color lies in its ability to infuse the garment with a more playful and unorthodox edge. Pink has always been uncommon among men up until quite recently and it is this element of the unexpected that plays perfectly in the ultimate goal of creating a stylish, memorable image.

The pink mania!

The pink mania!Pink is back and this time it is here to stay. The last five years have seen myriad shades of pink dominating the men’s garments with great vigor. Where at one point in time, it may be considered a tender hue meant only for the ladies, today this shade has even the tough guys wearing it with élan. It has attained its historical position once again with men flocking to buy pink not just once but many times over. This is so because right from the ever so romantic baby pink to its louder version, the pink color has gained prominence in a big big way.

Pink as a base color!

Present times have seen various shades of pink as the band se color for shirts, pocket squares as well as neckties. Its most common version being the baby pink used in contrast in the contrast collared shirt alongside corporate blue. Besides, pink polos and t-shirts are yet another line of clothing that have gained prominence in the markets and are immensely being liked by the male consumers. The fine proof of the fact is the range flaunted by top brands like Lacoste, Etro and Calvin Klein to name a few.

Myriad tone of soft pink makes for a highly formal approach and unlike the popular belief, it adds a great deal of zing in one’s personality. In this regard, men with dark complexions particularly look good in baby pink along with fresh pink that look very complimentary on most men in general.

Shades of baby pink have particularly become exceedingly popular among the younger crowd who look simply dapper when they wear it with jeans. Where some are seen wearing it on formal occasions, the strawberry tinge shirt also makes for a popular casual line and looks great when worn with an attire flaunting a casual footwear and sir an air of confidence.

A vibrant pink, particularly a shade of neon is recently seen hitting the shelves and markets post sale reviews say that people found it to be a genuine standout and are simply loving it.

Thus we see that the world has finally come out of its conservative shell and is trying new things. But one thing about carrying this color on your shoulders is that it speaks volumes about your confidence as a person and that is what looks impressive about men wearing pink!

Cast magic with dress shirts this season!

Style tips, fashion tips, fashion, dress shirts, dress shirts for men, men’s styleAll men working in professional environs will agree with me when I say that clothing plays a crucial role when it comes to creating a right impression at your work place. It is not only about impressing people but dressing well makes you confident as a person and we certainly feel good when we look good.
In this regard, the formal shirts that we wear at office or the dress shirts as they are popularly called form an important part of clothing at office for men. Whether you wear it with a tie or without it, a dress shirt brings to you all the attention and respect as it greatly reflects your lifestyle and your gravity as a person. Hence before going in to buy one, men must know certain details about these as follows.

The style!
Ideally a dress shirt worn at office should be with a tie with the shirt having full sleeves. Short sleeved shirts with a tie don’t really go well and so avoid it until wearing it is a mandate in your office because of your job culture. I haven’t seen many offices though who encourage you to wear a tie with short sleeved shirts, but if you see your seniors doing so, then there is no harm in do so. When dressing to impress, do not be a non-office conformist. Sleeves can always be rolled up if need be.

The style of the collars also differs from shirt to shirt such as a normal pointed collar and a spread collar. Spread collars are catching great rage now a days and a form a part of contemporary fashion. Its advantage is that it helps accenting the tie and thus looks a great deal better with a wider tie. Shirts which have collars of a different tie than the shirt appear bolder and you need to have the right attitude and oodles of confidence to be bale to flaunt it boldly.

Besides shirts which are closed by straight cuffs with buttons look the best in long sleeves and make for a fine style statement. On the other hand, French shirts need cufflinks which certainly adds a great amount of flair to the clothing and is an ideal choice for party wear.

Besides the style of the shirts there are parameters like the size and the fit which play a crucial role while selecting a shirt. I’ll be talking about it detail in my forth coming articles. Until then, shop well and makes sure that the shirt you choose brings out the best in you!

A gentleman’s dress shirt!

A gentleman’s dress shirt! We all know how important it is for us to choose the right clothing for our office wear. Like I said in one of my last papers that people unknown to us take just 30 seconds to create an impression about us at a subconscious level and what we wear plays a crucial role in the decision. So if we have to make sure that we render just the right impression about us, we must know what it takes to be a true gentleman. Hence are some suggestions you might as well like to know about the right clothing for formal wear.

One of the major elements of formal clothing for men is the dress shirts. Please do not confuse these shirts with the regular ones as these cannot be worn with other casual clothing such as jeans or khakis at random. They are formal shirts and look best when paired with formal trousers only. There are certain factors that need to be kept in mind while choosing a shirt which I would like to share with you. I spoke about myriad styles dress shirts are available in, in my last write-up. I also emphasized that parameters like the size and the fit are to be equally taken into regard while buying a shirt. Let’s talk about them in detail in here.

The Size!
There are two areas in a dress shirt where size matters- the neck size and the sleeve length. The over all size of the shirt is affected by the neck size so a larger neck size will be wider around the shoulders and the body. If you have a trimmed body or an athletic built, you should either go to a designer store where fits for all kinds of built are available or if you can’t afford it, then get your shirt stitched, which should taper for a tighter fit.

The statistics available for neck sizes are 14 and a half to 18 and the sleeve lengths vary from 30 to 37. There are many ranges available in the market where manufacturers combine the two lengths into a range such as 32-33. If you are worried about the large size, then you needn’t be because the entire range is available in big and tall shops. If you are still extremely particular about your fit you can get them custom made at your will.

Different brands also offer different sizes. For example, a polo shirt may be differing from Eagle and Eagle may differ from Van Heusen shirts. Ideally shirts with a long tail are better as they easily stay tucked in the pants. You should also make sure that the neck size is large so that you can comfortably button the top button in case you need to wear a tie. Also the sleeves of the shirt should be long enough to cover the wrist when the arm is extended.

These are some minute details that will prove helpful in choosing the perfect fit for you. Lastly what matters most is your confidence and how you carry yourself. This is one thing which actually adds zinc to your already perfect attire. So carry yourself with assurance in whatever you wear and you’ll have the world watching you in admiration!

Men’s Dress Shirts

Men’s Dress ShirtsWhether you are an executive who is constructing his own wardrobe or a young man who needs his first men’s dress shirt for a job interview, knowing how to buy men’s dress shirts will help you achieve and retain the professional look you desire. This guide gives you the much needed information you need to find men’s dress shirts that fit well, suit your persona and are appropriate for your lifestyle.

A good-fitted dress shirt can definitely flatter the man’s built and frame. And with the right choice of colours and patterns it can give radiance to your personality as well as rejuvenate any of your dull coloured suits.

Before looking for a dress shirt, you’ll need to know your size. While buying a dress shirt you need to keep in mind two numbers: the first is your neck size, and the second is your sleeve length. Ill-fitting clothes won’t impress anyone and will be uncomfortable, so measure yourself to get an appropriate fit.

Men’s dress shirts do not need to be similar and repetitive in shape, style, and design. Every shirt can be different through faint detailing of the fabric, pattern, collar, buttons, and cuffs.

Dress shirts are commonly available in three different fits: athletic, regular and full. Choose your dress shirt fit based on your body type and personal style.

• Athletic: Also called slim or tailored, is the narrowest fitting men’s dress shirt.

• Regular: This standard dress shirt fit is a little looser than the athletic fit.

• Full: The loosest of all dress shirt fits, this is appropriate for men with a larger stature. Full fit men’s dress shirts are also usually a little longer.

An interesting feature about a man’s shirt is that even if it is worn by any two men it can still carry a different feel, style and look for each man. This is because of the difference in the men’s body frame, personality, as well as the amalgamation with other apparels like suits.

The suitable pairing of shirts with the right suiting or pants is important in bringing out every man’s individual fashion styling. Also the correct mix and match between your shirts, suits, and ties, can prevent anything too loud (gaudy) or overly modest.

A crisp, well-stitched men’s business dress apparel with firm assembly over a soft fabric tells a lot about a man’s attitude and status especially in the corporate world. Hence follow the official policies of your dress code and set the trend!

Right Suit Fit

Right Suit Fit“Less is more” has finally permeated into men’s fashion! Today, the fashion buffs among men would just love to show off more of their ankle below their pant and more cuffs at the sleeve. This is what is called as the right suit fit! A fitted suit in the contemporary fashion is sleek with slimmer fit at the shoulder and shorter hemlines. This was just a generalized view on the right suit fit. The fitting largely depends on the type of built you have. This article will guide you on how to buy a good fitted suit.

If you have a broader body frame, you should go for suit that is slenderizing.
Men who are well built should opt for dark colors as lighter colors will make the body seem fuller whereas, the darker shades will have an opposite effect. For the lighter feel, go for darker colors that will do wonders to lighten the appearance of your built.

Colors such as dark navy and black are colors of contemporary style and elegance. If you are the “muscle man”, go for suit that is slender and sleek. If you are searching for suit with extra detailing, never go for loud patters as they will work against your heavy built. Vertical stripes are the best as they lengthen the body and the shoulder frame. Bigger guys should look for innocuous designs in their suits whilst the shorter guys should go for fabrics that are wide open. If you are vertically challenged, you should opt for louder patterns that can draw attention to your smaller frame.

Vertical stripes are the best choice for shorter men as they lengthen their height. For shorter men, the overall body frame can be increased vertically by the running down strips in the suit and choosing a shoe with higher sole. Single button jackets are stylish. The dual slits or vents of your suit will highlight the outside lines of your body, thus complementing your frame.

Starch in your shirt

Starch in your shirtIs your shirt is too much wrinkly and every time you iron it, you still find the shirt is not as stiff as the one which is starched by your laundry? So why don’t you try the trick to make your shirt laundry fresh and stiff? What about applying starch on your work shirt? Think over and if you wanna do the trick, read on.
Linen wrinkles up the moment you put it on and move. Even crisply ironed cotton shirts can look rumpled minutes after you wear them. So, ask your dry cleaner to add some starch when the cloth goes to laundry. Rather, do it yourself!

So if you apply starch on the shirt, make sure that you don’t overdo it. Excess starch leaves spots on the shirt. Don’t apply too much of starch on dark colored shirts. The shirt will rather look like a piece of cardboard!

The next thing to do is check whether the shirt is pure cotton or not. Generally what happens is, if the shirt is not 100% cotton and is a blend of some other fabric, starch acts the opposite- delicate fabrics are damaged by starch. Excess starch also leads to disintegration of the fabric.

It is better not to starch your lightweight shirts if you have the habit of removing the clothing, rolling it up and stuffing it under the bed. This leads to more wrinkles which mean you will have to launder them again to get the wrinkles out.

If you are packing your suitcase for a business tour, don’t starch the shirts before packing. This is because if you’re put on your starched shirt, it will show the wrinkles developed when it was starched and tightly packed.

Get the best fitting men’s shirt

Get the best fitting men’s shirtAll men want to look neat and crisp, isn’t it? However, many of them don’t find the shirt that fits them very well. Result- they end up in wearing long, sagging sleeves with neck squeezed by collars. They look just like unmade beds! If you are one among them, don’t lose sleep over this issue, as we are here to provide you the tips to get the best fitting shirt.

Neck: Here is a quality check for the right fitting of neck. Slide two fingers down the neckband. If the collar of your shirt, while buttoned, allows you to slide your fingers without gagging your throat and collar, this means the fitting of neck is all right. The fabric of many shirts shrinks when they are washed. Therefore, the shirt should have an extra ¼ - ½ inch to allow for shrinkage.

Shoulder: Your shirt shouldn’t hinder the free movement of your arms. If you find it too hard too lift your shoulders and literally, pull the shirt uncomfortably across the shoulders, then this denotes a wrong fit.

Body: The body of your shirt should not be baggy and shapeless. This will give you the feeling of wearing a bedspread! So, ask your tailor to make the shape of the shirt in accordance with your body.

Cuffs: Ideally, the cuffs of your shirt should hang over your hand. You should also ensure that you don’t slip your hands through the cuffs without unbuttoning them.

Sleeves: Your cuffs should end slightly below your wrist bones. The cuffs should provide enough room to bend your arms with ease.

Shirt-tail: The long shirt tail bunches up when tucked in. Therefore, the shirt tail should be ideally short but not too short that it comes out of your pants when you raise your arms.
