Apparel essentials for Short & Slim men!
![]() |
When we say we want to look stylish, it does not mean that buying some good brands and flaunting them with airs will make us look like style divas. Style does not come by wearing clothes that are expensive alone. It comes with knowing what to wear and when such that it suits not only our body structure but also the occasion.
Talking of structure, I have seen that men with different physiques are often unaware about what to wear such that it fits their bone structure well and also makes them look taller and slimmer than the already are. Hence in these series of articles I’ll be talking about some clothing lines
And the essentials that need to be taken into regard while purchasing them or getting them stitched. Let’s focus on short slim men in this one:
Since winter is on, lets talk about how can short and slim men don jackets without looking too undersized in them.
• The shoulder should be padded so that they look higher and slightly broader than the usual.
• The torso should broaden the chest as well as the shoulders. Also having slight waist suppression helps.
• The length of the jacket should be as short as possible, but it should cover the hips without cutting the wearer in two parts.
• If you looking for something that’ll give you a longer line, single breasted, three buttoned coats work the best.
• If you are interested in double-breasted coats, then always remember that they should have a long roll and button below the natural waist i.e. if you are shorter.
• The notches of the lapel must be in the chest’s upper range because peaked lapels serve for greater height.
• You may or may not have side vents.
• If you already have wider shoulders, then flap pockets helps in adding more width to the hip line, thereby balancing better with the wider shoulder.
• The fabrics that’ll work the best for your built will include mill-finished worsteds and flannels with patterning that emphasizes verticality. For example, herringbones, pinstripes and windowpanes in which the woof is longer than the weft.
So here we are! Once you incorporate these specifications, in your clothing line, you’ll see that it’ll not only hide your weak areas but also accentuate them, making you look taller and a little more than slim to avoid making you look tiny. The next segment will contain more of these tips so keep reading!
